Courier Services Dallas: Gas 101

Route Deliveries DallasDon’t close the browser just yet! I know – who wants to read about the ever-increasing gas prices? No one. But we must face the music, my friends. Today’s post won’t be all depressing. Just parts of it. I’m sorry – truth hurts. But I will end with some positive take-aways to help your sanity and your wallet.

As one of the premier courier companies in Dallas, we believe in keeping our clients and loyal readers up on transportation news. Unfortunately, not all news is exciting or fun to read. With that disclaimer, please read on…

$4.19.

Let’s play a little ‘guess what item has that price.’ Is it a Whataburger meal? Is it a fancy nail polish? Is it a smoothie? Is it a bunch of bananas? Is it your tip for a casual lunch? Is it two gallons of milk? Is it a 12 pack (of Dr. Pepper)? Is it a no-fluff car wash? Is it gallon of gasoline?

Yes, it is a gallon of gasoline. It isn’t exciting news, but we have to pay attention to it. Gas around the Metroplex is hovering around 4 dollars and 19 cents a gallon – oh and that’s the cheap stuff.  Hold onto your hats, I have more bad news. It’s only going up. Experts predict that gas is going to raise to $4.25 by April. And don’t think that it’s just a Dallas problem. Moving North or South won’t be helpful. These high gas prices are a nationwide epidemic.

So let’s talk damage control. Since we can’t control gas prices, we have to learn how to deal with them. Our couriers Dallas have some ideas:

  • Carpool. Get together with your coworkers and figure out who lives where and if there is an efficient route to carpool. Sometimes it may mean leaving a little early or a little later, but money can definitely be saved.
  • Hire couriers. Does this seem counter-intuitive? Let me tell you why it isn’t. Hiring a courier service Dallas to handle your deliveries means you aren’t out on the road filling up at $4.19 a gallon. Why doesn’t it hurt our couriers like it hurts your people? Because we are making deliveries all day long. From route deliveries Dallas to rush deliveries Dallas, we are in the business of delivering efficiently. Don’t send your people out, send ours.
  • Public Transportation. Never used DART? Try out buses or the rails. Get yourself public transportationed out!

Sure, the first part of the blog was a little depressing. Gas prices are high, but that’s not to say we can’t still keep our wallets happy. Get creative and get social. Carpooling, couriers and public transportation – oh ya!
