Dallas Courier Company – Tips for Tax Season

Chances are you got your W2 form in the mail this week. And chances are your stomach dropped like a lead weight, your palms began to sweat and your knees buckled. Yep, it’s the beginning of tax season.
Just this morning, I felt that panic. I arrived to my desk after an already hectic morning only to find it sitting there, a little gift from the Dallas courier company, Eagle Express. That little envelope means a whole lot of work is coming down the pipe.
All this W2 business has got me thinking: how can you, me and our Dallas courier team make the most out of tax season? Meaning, how can we stay stress-free and on-the-ball all at the same time?
While our Dallas box truck deliveries team is out making their rounds, I am here thinking about taxes. I’ve done some serious searching about tips and tricks for getting your taxes done in a timely manner and more importantly, in an accurate manner.
So, here we go! From your Dallas courier specialists, here are some tips for making it (unscathed!) to April 15 (which happens to be my birthday, and no, I don’t want to talk about it).
Top Tax Tips (click here for MSN article):
- Get serious. This is no time to flounder. Procrastination = bad news. Compile your documents, calm down and get to work. Most importantly, make a plan. Know what needs to get done and when it needs to happen.
- Get started. Yes, this is the hardest part. It’s just like getting yourself out of bed and to the gym in the morning. It’s not the working out that’s hard, it’s the getting up. So, get up – just do it.
- Get organized. Our Dallas courier team knows quite a bit about organization. If you aren’t organized with your deliveries, mistakes are bound to happen. Same with taxes. No organization is a recipe for disaster. If you don’t have a filing cabinet, get an expandable folder with various sections.
- Get Informed. The U.S. tax code changes all of the time. Do you know the changes? Do you know your deductions? (see tomorrow’s blog for more on this!)
- Get help. Getting help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a strength. It means you know when things are beyond your current capabilities. TurboTax, H&R Block or a personal accountant. Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to get help.
- Get status. This means, decide how you’re going to file.
- Get itemized. See the article for an explanation on itemization. I’ll be frank: I have no idea how to help on this one. (Honesty is the best policy at our Dallas courier company!)
I hope this helps as you prepare for April 15. You can do this – do NOT fear the tax season. Join our Dallas courier team in keeping organized, on time and upbeat!
