Courier Services Dallas: Gas 101

Route Deliveries DallasDon’t close the browser just yet! I know – who wants to read about the ever-increasing gas prices? No one. But we must face the music, my friends. Today’s post won’t be all depressing. Just parts of it. I’m sorry – truth hurts. But I will end with some positive take-aways to help your sanity and your wallet.

As one of the premier courier companies in Dallas, we believe in keeping our clients and loyal readers up on transportation news. Unfortunately, not all news is exciting or fun to read. With that disclaimer, please read on…

$4.19.

Let’s play a little ‘guess what item has that price.’ Is it a Whataburger meal? Is it a fancy nail polish? Is it a smoothie? Is it a bunch of bananas? Is it your tip for a casual lunch? Is it two gallons of milk? Is it a 12 pack (of Dr. Pepper)? Is it a no-fluff car wash? Is it gallon of gasoline?

Yes, it is a gallon of gasoline. It isn’t exciting news, but we have to pay attention to it. Gas around the Metroplex is hovering around 4 dollars and 19 cents a gallon – oh and that’s the cheap stuff.  Hold onto your hats, I have more bad news. It’s only going up. Experts predict that gas is going to raise to $4.25 by April. And don’t think that it’s just a Dallas problem. Moving North or South won’t be helpful. These high gas prices are a nationwide epidemic.

So let’s talk damage control. Since we can’t control gas prices, we have to learn how to deal with them. Our couriers Dallas have some ideas:

  • Carpool. Get together with your coworkers and figure out who lives where and if there is an efficient route to carpool. Sometimes it may mean leaving a little early or a little later, but money can definitely be saved.
  • Hire couriers. Does this seem counter-intuitive? Let me tell you why it isn’t. Hiring a courier service Dallas to handle your deliveries means you aren’t out on the road filling up at $4.19 a gallon. Why doesn’t it hurt our couriers like it hurts your people? Because we are making deliveries all day long. From route deliveries Dallas to rush deliveries Dallas, we are in the business of delivering efficiently. Don’t send your people out, send ours.
  • Public Transportation. Never used DART? Try out buses or the rails. Get yourself public transportationed out!

Sure, the first part of the blog was a little depressing. Gas prices are high, but that’s not to say we can’t still keep our wallets happy. Get creative and get social. Carpooling, couriers and public transportation – oh ya!

Courier Service Dallas: President’s Day

Courier Service DallasI pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

These days, people don’t appreciate or know history. That’s why as a courier service Dallas, we are putting the cool back in history. We should know our roots. We should know from whence we came. We should know about our Presidents! And with President’s Day just around the corner, we wanted to represent all delivery companies Dallas in being on our historical game. At Eagle Express, we too are about to be celebrating our own history – our 30th birthday is just around the corner. Just as we celebrate our company, we celebrate our country. Just how will we do that??

POP QUIZ! Let’s see what you know about our President’s!

1. Name the Presidents whose faces make up Mount Rushmore.

We Love: Valentine's Deliveries Dallas & More!

Valentine's Couriers DallasLove.

Verb. to have love or affection for; to have a profoundly tender, passionate affection for; to have a strong liking for; take great pleasure in; to need or require; benefit greatly from; to embrace and kiss (someone)

That one little word packs a punch, eh? It can inspire hope and sadness, excitement and fear, calm and anxiousness. Love is an intense emotion, and today, we are celebrating it – warts and all. Why? Because without love, this world would be a boring place. Our couriers Dallas wouldn’t love their jobs, their routes, their clients, their kids, their spouses, their siblings. We wouldn’t love our dogs, music, chocolate chip cookies. We wouldn’t call our friends during hard times, send flowers just because or text a compassionate message to a just-empty-nester parent.

Love. It does make our world go round. Say what you will, but this day is fun to celebrate. So, today, I am honoring the things our medical couriers Dallas, food couriers Dallas, route deliveries Dallas teams, and rush deliveries Dallas teams all love. Hold onto your hats, it’s a get-to-know-your-courier-company kind of day!

On Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating our love for: our clients, steaks, warm coats, fireflies, comfy socks, chocolate shakes, lemony water, children, rainy weekends, uplifting books, fresh flowers, action movies about driving, pugs, round-a-bout, manis/pedis, homemade ice-cream, Fantasy Football, good rivalries, DIY furniture, baked goodies, no-hassle car inspections, finding a quarter just when you need to pay the parking meter, pulled pork tacos, a day at the beach, finding new hot spots in Dallas, riding a horse, a cold glass of water after a long run, midday walks, traveling without an agenda, abstract art, kids smiling, compassionate people, worthy causes, healthy doctors visits, fashion know-how, a competitive yet friendly game of Scrabble, playing tennis even if you’re bad, buying local produce, hazelnut coffee, riding a bike, not being late, buying someone’s lunch just because, forgiving others and ourselves, smartphones, being a friend, eating less sodium and preservatives, dreaming big, singing out loud in the shower and in the car, visiting new babies, being a cheerful giver, collecting shells, pizza, dog parks, Mexican food, slumber parties, sisters, good news, baseball season, picnics, engagements, random acts of kindness, big tips, caramel, candles, Tervis Tumblers, romance, (good) email forwards, reupholstered furniture, wisteria, slippers, New Year’s Eve parties, volunteerism, barbecues, pool parties, mountains, bluebonnets, Texas, skipping, burgers, love.

If you read that whole list, you are my favorite person… EVER. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Choosing the Best Courier Service DFW 4 U

Route Deliveries DallasSo you’ve finally gotten on board with using a courier company. You decided after years of DIY (delivering it yourself), you were over it. No more facing Dallas traffic at 4:30 on a Monday. No more stuffing your car full of client files only to accidentally spill your coffee while trying to load everything. No more tears after getting lost. No more small talk when you actually get to the drop-off point. No more, “honey I’ll be home late, I have to get something to Fort Worth.”

And just when you think your decision is over, it’s not. You finally choose between all of the courier services Dallas, and you settle on Eagle Express (great choice!). Then, you get on the website to actually put in a delivery job, and low and behold, there are lots of options! From one hour deliveries Dallas to scheduled deliveries Dallas, your head is swimming. What to do, what to do. Luckily, I am here to help. Here’s a how-to guide in choosing the best fit for you:

  • Super Rush. Use the Super Rush service when you need it there within 45 minutes. Also, as a note, the closer it gets to 5:00, the more you might have to use the Super Rush service. Obviously, you can’t use a 4 hour delivery at 4:00. It pays to plan ahead!
  • One Hour. This service is for timely items, but not 45 minutes timely. Get it there in an hour and you’re happy. For example, you need something on a client’s desk at the end of the lunch hour. It’s already noon… one hour delivery Dallas it is!
  • Two Hour. You call this on in a bit more ahead of time. You get into the office and finish that proposal by 10. It needs to be there by noon – two hour service it is!
  • Three Hour. You are one prepared little worker bee! It doesn’t need to be there in an hour or even two – so three hours is the service of choice.
  • Four Hour. The four hour service is our most cost efficient. Get something done before 1:00 p.m., and the 4 hour is the service for you. It will get there by the end of the day without spending a lot. Cost effective and a stress reliever all at once.
  • Scheduled/Route Deliveries Dallas. Consider the route service when you have something that needs to go out the same time every day/week/month. If every Wednesday, a client needs a notebook of information sent over, call us. Set it up one time and you never have to worry about it again. Every Wednesday, rain, shine, sleet or snow, we will be there.
  • Critical Distant. Say you need something delivered from Dallas to Austin. Seems inefficient to send one of your people on a wild goose chase to 6th street for one delivery. I am willing to bet it would be more cost effective to let your person stay in town and do their work and let the courier do the driving and delivering.

See, it isn’t too hard. Just think about your specific needs. One day it might be a Super Rush due to a time-crunch. The next you might call in a 4 hour since you’re ahead of the game. And the next you might decide you need to set up a route delivery in Dallas to take pressure off of your coworkers. Just find the service that best fits your needs. Call it in and never worry about it again!

Dallas Couriers: Honoring Our Heritage

Courier Companies DallasDo you like history? I do! I do! Call me a nerd, it’s ok. I completely embrace that labe

Want to know what I like most about history? It’s a story. I can read historical books and be completely enthralled – trust me, what has really happened can be much more interesting than fiction.

And not surprisingly, in working for one of the premier courier services in Dallas, I like to look back at my industry: the delivery industry. There is so much to learn by those who have gone before us, those who paved the way for our current work. We can learn from the tenacity of the early messengers and pay homage to their hard work.

Today is all about paying homage to one influential company: Wells Fargo.

WOAH. Hold up. Just want does a banking company have to do with the courier industry? Listen up! Wells Fargo started out doing banking AND delivery. They had messengers that handled valuables, money and gold. They literally made deliveries across the country. So, any time you see someone from any courier companies in Dallas, you can thank Wells Fargo for paving the way. And in honor of them, here are some cool factoids:

  • Wells Fargo began as a bank, an express company (aka couriers), and stage-coaching.
  • At one point, WF had more than 10,000 offices – almost everyone was familiar with the Wells Fargo Wagon. (Talk about brand recognition)
  • As an important note: the stage coach is very different from the wagon. The stage coach is the logo today, but the wagon was made famous in a song from The Music Man.
  • Wells Fargo was started by Henry Wells & William Fargo.
  • Henry Wells stated: “Our lives are not measured by the number of years and days we exist, but by what we accomplish while we live, and the good we may render to our fellow men.” He followed this in his own life. Upon his death in 1878, he had only $40,000 due to his philanthropic efforts.
  • William was the oldest of 12 children. At age 13, he got a job delivering mail on a horseback (a true courier!).
  • In 1875, Wells, Fargo deleted the comma and simply became Wells Fargo.
  • In 1866, the Grand Consolidation took place: "Grand Consolidation": Wells Fargo acquired all major overland stagecoach firms in the West, connecting over 3,000 miles of western territory.

I bet after reading all of those facts you are more apt to honor where all of the courier companies in Dallas/Fort Worth have come from. We have humble roots as a industry that grew into a huge tree. Talk about a nice way to spend a Saturday morning – looking back what began what we do so well today: Dallas deliveries.

Valentine’s Day Deliveries Dallas: History Love Lesson

Valentines Deliveries DallasOn Tuesday, our city will be bustling with roses, chocolates, caramels, strawberries, handwritten cards, decorated cookies, and much more. When February 14th comes, everyone is busy making red, white and pink say love.

And at Eagle Express, we are, admittedly, like the rest of Dallas. We can caught up in the crazy of the day. And it shouldn’t surprise you that we get caught up in the things – we are busy delivering them! Whether our food couriers Dallas are delivering cakes or our refrigerated deliveries Dallas specialists are delivering dozens of fresh roses, we are busy on Valentine’s Day.

But, like I said, in all the hustle and bustle, it can be easy to forget how the day even came about. So we are taking a moment to look at back the beginnings of Valentine’s Day…

  • The story of Saint Valentine is actually very mysterious. Which isn’t surprising considering he is the patron saint of love… oh the mystery!
  • There are actually three saints named Saint Valentine. All were martyred. More mystery…
  • Valentine’s Day has roots in both Christianity and ancient Rome.
  • History.com says: One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.
  • History.com also says: According to one legend, an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first "valentine" greeting himself after he fell in love with a young girl--possibly his jailor's daughter--who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter signed "From your Valentine," an expression that is still in use today.
  • In the 17th century, Valentine’s Day was made popular, and it has since been celebrated in many countries across the globe.
  • In the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began selling the first mass-produced valentines in America. Howland, known as the “Mother of the Valentine,” made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap."

Valentine’s – you mysterious dog, you! What do we know – not much! But it sure is fun to realize that we just another one of hundreds of thousands of people who have celebrated the special day. And remember, when you need a Valentine's delivery in Dallas, call our team at Eagle Express!

DFW Valentine’s Day Deliveries: Ideas & Such

Valentine's Day DeliveriesThink you’re the only one prepping for Valentine’s Day? Think again! Our team at Eagle Express has been prepping for the big day for a while now. Why? Because Valentine’s deliveries are very, very, very important.

If you haven’t noticed, people (okay, mostly women) want to be romanced on Valentine’s. You want to know what isn’t romantic? Forgetting the big day.

So, our DFW Valentine’s deliveries experts are here to save the day. We’ve got ideas – and good ones,  I might add. Since each year we spend Valentine’s week making all kinds of romantic deliveries, we know a thing or two about making the day extra special. So, to keep you on the pedestal, here are some bright ideas for sweetening up Valentine’s Day:

  • Cook. Sure an evening out on the town is lovely, but sometimes the most romantic thing you can do is an evening in – no laundry, dishes, vacuuming or dusting. It’s nice to just enjoy each other’s company at home without the annoyance of chores and such. So, my advice is to recreate a memorable dinner – whether it was an engagement, first date or simply a fun time spent together. A few years ago, my hubby recreated a date we had while traveling in Spain – paella, machego cheese and of course, Spanish wine.
  • Spa Day. Send your sweetie to a spa for the day. What woman doesn’t love a massage and mani/pedi? That’s a trick question – they all do. And here’s a great kick-back, you send her to the spa and send yourself to the golf course. Then, you both join up for a romantic dinner for two after a day of relaxation (barring any difficulties on the golf course).
  • Fun, fun, fun! Who says that love has to be sitting around staring in each other’s eyes and saying things like, “you’re so awesome” and “you’re my heart’s truest desire.” While those things are great and all, sometimes the true recipe for love is spelled F-U-N. Some ideas: kayaking, farmer’s market, playing tennis, taking the dogs to a dog park, buying a trampoline (my latest obsession), run a half marathon, paint a bedroom, go to a yoga class, ride the trolley downtown, go biking, go to the Arboretum, head to White Rock Lake… you get the idea here. Spruce up Valentine’s Day with some local favorites.
  • Deliver. Show your sweetie some love by delivering him or her something tasty or beautiful on this Valentine’s. Since February 14 lands on a Tuesday this year, consider the following: a personalized cake or cookies, his/her favorite flavor of popcorn, flowers (yes, you can branch out from roses), a thoughtful card or a romantic movie. But the point is, if you choose to have something delivered, be sure to choose wisely between courier companies in Dallas. You don’t want just anyone handling your important Valentine’s Day deliveries Dallas! Be sure you choose the best couriers in DFW – Eagle Express!

Medical Couriers Dallas: Heart Health

Medical Deliveries Dallas

February – ah, the month of love. You want chocolates, roses, a romantic date night. You want to love someone with all of your heart.

But in this lovely month of Valentine’s treats and sweets, we often forget about the most important thing: our love machine (the heart).

As a company that specializes in medical deliveries Dallas, we believe in staying up on health news. That’s why in February we don’t just celebrate Valentine’s Day, we celebrate being heart healthy couriers!

Thanks to the American Heart Association, the word is getting out. Your heart matters – not just for love – for your LIFE.

In order to kick-off February in the right way, I figured I would give some important facts from our medical couriers Dallas. Join our team in getting heart-healthy, heart-smart and heart-happy.

  • Heart disease is the number one killer of women – that’s why the AHA has the Go Red for Women- Wearing RED campaign in February (Feb. 3).
  • Heart attacks can be signaled by pain the chest that lasts more than a few minutes.
  • The AHA has 7 simple steps to living a heart-healthier lifestyle:
    1. Get Active. 70% of Americans do not get enough exercise. DON”T BE ONE OF THEM! Luckily, our medical deliveries DFW team has a job that begins and ends with exercise!
    2. Control Cholesterol. Controlling cholesterol will keep your arteries free from blockages. Sounds like a good plan.
    3. Eat Better. Whole grain, lean protein, colorful fruits and veggies = good. Saturated fats, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium = bad.
    4. Manage Blood Pressure. High blood pressure is the single biggest risk factor for heart disease.
    5. Lose Weight. 2/3 of adults in America are overweight. Let’s change the cycle.
    6. Reduce Blood Sugar. Keep your body at a low risk for developing pre-diabetes and diabetes.
    7. Stop Smoking. Stop smoking for your heart and for your lungs.
  • Heart disease – also called cardiovascular disease – is a simple term used to describe several problems related to plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries, or atherosclerosis. As the plaque builds up, the arteries narrow, making it more difficult for blood to flow and creating a risk for heart attack or stroke.

As one of the best medical courier companies in Dallas, we urge you to join us in GOING RED.

Couriers Dallas: X Games Xcellence

Courier Companies DallasDid you watch the X Games last night? If you didn’t, you need to youtube Shaun’s White AMAZING run on the SuperPipe. Whoops, did I say amazing? I meant to say PERFECT.

The ‘it’ man of snowboarding threw down a perfect run last night, even after he had already secured the gold with a 94.00 run. With his red hair flying and his zebra-inspired pants (hello, new snowboarding fashion trend), White redefines the SuperPipe every time he competes. He makes it look easy. He is flawless – literally. The judges could find nothing wrong with his final run – a perfect 100.00.

Let me give you the very cool details: White did back-to-back double corks – making history. White does what other boarders wouldn’t dare. He goes where no others have gone before. He attempts the seemingly impossible – which is why as we strive to be the best of all courier companies in Dallaswe like him. (Okay, we love him!).

One quote from White: “It's unreal. I've been wanting that 100 forever.”

Why do we gravitate to people like Shaun White? Here is my two cents:

  • He never settles for less. Even after he had already clenched the gold medal with a 94, he gave his last run his all. He never gives up or slows down because the win isn’t on the line. It reminds me of our 4 hour Dallas deliveries team. Even though they have four hours to get it done, they still work just as hard as if it was a 45 minute delivery.
  • Inventive. He has invented countless tricks in snowboarding. And we like that. As couriers Dallas, people often think that we only deliver small packages. Sure, some couriers do that, but not Eagle Express. We are a like Shaun White. We invent new ways of helping our clients. From Dallas warehouse and distribution services to food deliveries Dallas, we are always looking to expand our business.
  • Perseverance. People want an athletic hero who works hard even through difficulties. After White sprained his ankle early in the X Games, many doubted his participation in the SuperPipe. But not so with Shaun White. He came out with a vengeance – persevering through the physical and mental adversity of an injury.
  • Cool. We have to put this one as a reason we gravitate toward Shaun White – he is just too darn cool. He is confident and comfortable in his own skin, something I can’t say for too many people. Here’s to embracing individualism and self confidence that isn’t prideful.

We are proud of Shaun White, and aspire to be more and more like him. At Eagle Express, we believe in being persistent, passionate, daring, confident and cool. Maybe one day you’ll see deliveries as an X Games competition… until then, here’s to hoping!

Couriers Dallas – Rainin’ Cats & Dogs!

Courier Companies DallasMy, oh my! Hello, much-needed rain!

This week in Dallas was refreshing to say the least. We needed the rain. While many counties are still in heavy duty water restrictions, the recent rain storms definitely helped the cause in getting our state back on track with H2O.

As 24 hour couriers in Dallas, when you get woken up at 1:30 in the morning by rain pelting your bedroom window, it is likely that our couriers are out and about making DFW deliveries. That means we can be some of the first to know when it starts raining. And we are preemptive in our knowledge, too. Before heading out for night deliveries, our couriers check the weather to see what’s in store.

So, we weren’t surprised this week when the rains came a pouring. It was in the forecast! What did surprise us was the sheer amount of flooding that came with the rain. The photo above was taken this morning (a few days after the onslaught), and you can you see the parking lot in front of Eagle Express’ home office still has standing water. Pretty wild!

From power outages to wrecks, rain can be a welcomed disaster (especially when it’s been forever since we have had a lot of it). So, in honor of our 24 hour couriers Dallas, I figured it was high time I write a blog on rainy day and night tips. Not just with driving, but with life in general. So, check it out:

  • Rain Footwear. High heels on a day with high chances of puddles are a bad idea. So are flip flops. Choose rainy day footwear that has good traction and if possible, is waterproof.
  • Don’t rush. Even if you wear the right shoes, slips and falls can happen. That’s why you should never rush in the rain. Plan ahead so you have time to be extra careful. Just imagine if our medical deliveries Dallas team rushed – you might have specimens flying every which way. And that would not be good at all.
  • Avoid Puddles. So you think it is just a shallow puddle? Think again. Water is often deeper and more powerful than we think. Take the driest route you can – and that includes in your car. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH RUSHING WATER. People often think they can make it in their cars only to be swept away.
  • Mats. This seems simple, but you will notice that many homes and office buildings don’t have entry mats. If you have a home or an office, be sure you provide you family and/or employees with adequate safety measures.

Rain, rain, don’t go away! Lake Lavon is still 8 feet below its needed water line. But let’s all just remember to be safe and smart when it’ raining cats and dogs. MEOWW.
